Innovations in Imaging

Free Bee International develops imaging methods for improving patient care and medical research. Free Bee Int’l  was founded in 2023 by Prof. Freek Beekman, a Dutch physicist, innovator, and life science entrepreneur.

At Free Bee Int’l we mainly pioneer new imaging technologies with the aim to improve tumor detection, localization and characterization, and improve brain, cardiac and total body imaging, and image guided radionuclide therapy. Our expertise includes imaging instrumentation, image reconstruction and image processing.

ACTIVITIES

Next Generation Clinical SPECT: Presently used clinical SPECT is limited in terms of speed, resolution and sensitivity. Free Bee Int’l develops improved next generation SPECT technologies e.g., by using various adaptive collimation technologies and smart detector systems.

Next generation Breast Specific Gamma-camera Imaging (BSGI). BSGI is an alternative for X-ray based breast imaging. X-ray imaging has severe limitations, in particular for patients with a high percentage of dense breast tissue. Comprehensive information on currently available BSGI instruments can be found at Smart Breast Corporation and CMR Naviscan. Free Bee’s new technologies will enable to lowering required dose, shortening imaging time, improve patient comfort, improve image resolution and allow for more efficient 3D localization of tumors to enable accurate and efficient tumor biopsy. Free Bee Int’l developed an extensive IP portfolio on new breast imaging technologies.
